Dr. Roger Hepburn鈥檚 specialties include African American History and 19th America. Accordingly, she teaches courses in African American History, American Slavery, and the American Civil War. 澳门老奇人论坛 named Roger Hepburn a Dalton Eminent Scholar in 2022 in recognition of her distinguished teaching and research in her field of study.

Private No More: The Civil War Letters of John Lovejoy Murray is her most recent offering. This work is part of the New Perspectives on the Civil War Era series by the University of Georgia Press and will appear later in 2022. Her previous book, Crossing the Border: A Free Black Community in Canada (University of Illinois Press, 2007), received the 2008 Albert B. Corey award jointly sponsored by the American Historical Association and the Canadian Historical Association. She has had articles published in the Michigan Historical Review and American Nineteenth Century History. Her current research project is a regimental history of the 102nd United States Colored Infantry and its service during the Civil War. Dr. Roger Hepburn is the recipient of the 2010 College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences Distinguished Scholarship Award.
