Why Study Accounting at Radford?

  • Each upper-division accounting course is taught by an individual with a terminal degree (Ph.D., D.B.A.) in the field.
  • Our smaller class sizes allow you to get to know your professor better, and for them to know and help you.
  • Accounting faculty not only serve as academic advisors, but they also support students鈥 search for internships and, eventually, full-time employment. We take great pride in seeing students find careers. In fact, many of our rising seniors in accounting have already obtained full-time employment before they start their last year in the program.

Careers and Internships

Obtaining an internship, often as early as the summer between a student鈥檚 second and third year, allows that student to learn more about areas within accounting that they might be interested in pursuing full time. It also allows the student to obtain up to 3 hours of academic credit toward their degree.
