Sociology students conduct research and analyze data, develop a global perspective, learn to think and write critically, become stewards of social justice, and prepare for graduate and professional degrees. Graduates are able to employ traditional sociological knowledge by developing solutions for today鈥檚 real-world problems.
As a broad behavioral science, Sociology students generally find work in a wide variety of careers. Radford students have gone particularly into research positions, social services positions, and human relations positions.
Students have the opportunity to work in our affiliated Center for Social and Cultural Research (CSCR), do independent research projects under faculty supervision, work together with faculty on research projects, and join the Sociology Club.
