I. Course Title: Special Topics in Anthropological Sciences

II. Course Number: ANSC 206

III. Credit Hours: 3 credits

IV. Prerequisites: None

V. Course Description: 

Reading and/or research and/or lectures focusing on specialized topics in anthropology selected by departmental staff. Students may take this course more than once for credit as long as the topic of the course is not the same.

VI. Detailed Description of Content of the Course:

Content for the course will be determined by the instructor in consultation with the Anthropological Sciences faculty. Content may include lectures, reading and discussions on the course topic.

VI. Detailed Description of Conduct of Course:

Class may include lecture, discussion, laboratory or field activities, student presentations, or guest lectures.  Course conduct will vary by instructor and topic.

VII. Goals and Objectives of the Course:

Student goals and objectives will be approved by the department curriculum committee prior to each offering of the class that are appropriate for the course topic. These goals and outcomes will be stated on the course syllabus.

VIII. Assessment Measures:

Students may be evaluated on the basis of their performance in class discussions, examinations, papers or projects. Specific course assessment measures will vary by instructor and course topic.
