Prerequisite: MBA status or permission of the instructor

Credit Hours: (3)

Provides a study of the quantitative tools used in business production and service organizations. Topics include linear programming, integer programming, network analysis and stochastic programming.

Detailed Description of Content of Course

List of Major Topics:

  • Introduction to Quantitative Methods
  • Linear Programming, Computer Applications
  • Integer Programming
  • Network Models
  • Queuing Models
  • Stochastic Applications

Detailed Description of Conduct of Course

Instruction includes demonstrations, in-class exercises, problem assignments, and periodic exams (usually a midterm and a final). Outside reading and case applications are included to augment and apply problem solving skills. A project is undertaken primarily as a team exercise involving research and application of quantitative methods. This course is both theoretical and problem oriented with emphasis on decision making support. Computer applications are used extensively.

Goals and Objectives of the Course

At conclusion of course, student will be able to:

  • Explain theoretical development of mathematical models and algorithms and demonstrate use of quantitative techniques for decision support.
  • 澳门老奇人论坛 scientific problem solving with appropriate computer software.

Assessment Measures

Graded assignments include homework problems, case analysis, computer applications, team projects, and exams.
