V. Course Description: This course explores current topics in health care, health care delivery models, ethical, legal, regulatory and compliance issues. This course will also cover the quality and outcome measures that are essential in the healthcare industry.

VII. Goals and Objectives of the Course:

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  1. Describe the role of policy, law, and government relations in health care. (E- V; PO- 5)
  2. Describe healthcare policy formulation, implementation, evaluation and revision. (E- V; PO-5)
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of healthcare policy finance and regulatory environments for local, state national and global trends. (E-V; PO-5)
  4. Describe the different types of health care delivery systems including their components and organization. (E-II; PO-2)
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of healthcare ethics, legal, regulations, and compliance including accessibility, equality, affordability and social justice in healthcare. (E- V, VIII ; PO- 5, 8)
  6. Discuss the role of regulatory agencies designed to improve quality of care and outcomes. (E-V, IX; PO- 5,9)
