V. Course Description: This course focuses on diverse populations in a variety of community settings and with individuals, families, aggregates, and communities.

VI. Detailed Description of Content of the Course:

Topic Outline:

  1. Community Assessment
  2. Principles of epidemiology
  3. Providing a safe and healthy environment
  4. Measuring performance, effectiveness, and outcomes of health services
  5. Promoting Healthy Communities
  6. Providing targeted outreach and forming partnerships
  7. Providing health care services for high risk aggregates that threaten the health of communities, including disaster preparedness

VII. Goals and Objectives of the Course:

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  2. Discuss community oriented-nursing and the influence of nursing concerning the health of individuals, families, and populations. (E- II, VII, VIII; PO- 2, 7, 8)
  3. Perform theory and evidence based therapeutic nursing interventions within the scope of community health nursing practice. (E- III, VII, IX; PO- 3, 7, 9)
  4. 澳门老奇人论坛 principles of epidemiology, community health organization, and disaster preparedness in consideration of safe and healthy environments. (E- II, III, V, VII; PO- 2, 3, 5, 7)
  5. Recognize and intervene in the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of clients encountered in the community. (E-VII, VIII, IX; PO- 7, 8, 9)
  6. Access interprofessional resources to resolve ethical dilemmas and exhibit accountability for care delivery in various community settings. (E- VII, VIII, IX; PO- 7, 8, 9)
  7. Collaborate with community members of the health care team to discuss culturally sensitive, holistic community care across the lifespan. (E- VI, VII, IX; PO- 6, 7, 9)
