I. Course Title: RN Interprofessional Clinical and Capstone

II. Course Number: NURS 409

III. Credit Hours: 3 credits (2 credit hour didactic and 1 credit hour clinical)

IV. Prerequisites: None

V. Course Description: This course is the culmination of the RN-BSN coursework at 澳门老奇人论坛/澳门老奇人论坛 Carilion with reflection of student professional and academic growth through a final project and professional portfolio. The student will build on content from previous courses on nursing theory, research, and leadership to identify an area of personal interest for practice or research, define a project, see the project through to completion, and write a scholarly paper describing the conclusions from the project. The students will also build a comprehensive portfolio based on professional and academic experiences and future goals.

VII. Goals and Objectives of the Course:

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:

  1. Describe and identify, research and practice issues that impact Nursing and the nursing role.  (E- III, IV, IX; PO- 3, 4, 9)
  2. Successfully complete a final project demonstrating knowledge of current literature and theory, based on interprofessional experiences. (E- III, VI, VIII, IX; PO- 3, 6, 8, 9)
  3. Contextualize present and past academic and professional experiences as a guide for future growth and goal attainment. (E- I, VIII, IX; PO- 1, 8, 9)
  4. Prepare a comprehensive portfolio that reflects academic and professional growth/goals, including the completion of all program outcomes. (E- I, IX; PO- 1, 9)
  5. Demonstrate a commitment to professionalism, professional values, and lifelong learning. (E- I, VIII, IX; PO- 1, 8, 9)
