PSYCHOLOGY 610: Analysis of Behavioral Data

Prerequisites: Two courses in statistics or equivalent

Credit Hours: (3)

Inferential procedures in the treatment of psychological research data. Emphasis on practical and behavioral applications of techniques of data analysis. Implications for the collection and organization of data discussed.

1. Introduction and Review of Analysis of Variance
2. Comparisons: planned and post hoc
3. Factorial Designs
4. Within-Subjects Designs
5. Analysis of Convariance
6. Application of Techniques and Principles to Selected Problems
7. Other Topics and Summary

 

Detailed Description of Conduct of Course

This is a lecture class with frequent pauses and requests for questions, and frequent questions from instructor to students. Current controversies in statistical treatment of data are presented.

 

Goals and Objectives of the Course

Graduate students will be able to conduct and understand research in human behavior.

 

Assessment Measures

Graded assignments include in-class tests and a final examination, and may include pop quizzes, the assignment and presentation of exercises, and projects, and class preparation and participation.

 

Other Course Information

All tests and assignments are open-book, open notes, open any written material the student has brought to class.
