The 澳门老奇人论坛 PsyD Program in Counseling Psychology is closing and no longer accepting students. The Program has been granted 鈥淎ccredited, Inactive鈥 status by the American Psychological Association鈥檚 Commission on Accreditation.

Pei-Chun Tsai, Ph.D., Associate Professor [ptsai3@radford.edu]

Dr. Tsai received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Iowa State University in 2015. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Georgia Tech Counseling Center.听She joined the Radford faculty in the Fall of 2015. Her current research interests are in the following three areas: (1)听positive psychology (especially the psychology of encouragement and well-being intervention), (2) training and supervision (especially coping with trainee鈥檚 anxiety in clinical work, and听critical factors in training and supervision on trainee鈥檚 counseling self-efficacy), and (3)听culturally adaptive coping for minority-related stress.听

JAMES WERTH, JR., PH.D., INTERIM DIRECTOR [JWERTH@RADFORD.EDU]

Dr. Werth received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University in 1995. He received a Master of Legal Studies degree from the University of Nebraska 鈥 Lincoln in 1999 and was the American Psychological Association鈥檚 AIDS Policy Congressional Fellow from 1999-2000. He then worked in the Department of Psychology at the University of Akron. He was the first Director of the RU PsyD Program before leaving to serve as Behavioral Health Director of a Community Health Center where he developed an APA-accredited internship. He has returned to assist with the closing of the PsyD Program.

rUTH rIDING mALON, PH.D., PROFESSOR [rridingmalon@radford.edu]

Dr. Riding-Malon received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2008. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Kentucky River Community Care, and Appalachian Regional Healthcare Hospital, a Consortium in Hazard, KY. She joined the Radford faculty in the Fall of 2008. Her current research interests are in the following areas: (1) the intersection of psychology and spirituality (especially understanding the impact of clients鈥 religious beliefs on their worldviews), (2) trauma treatment, and (3) counseling and psychotherapy in an international context.听
