I am very pleased to welcome you at the virtual doorsteps of the Department of Marketing in the Davis College of Business and Economics, an AACSB accredited business school.
On these pages, you will find information about the Marketing program, the degree requirements, the courses offered, our faculty members, the career opportunities in the field of marketing and much more. Please take your time and explore the information.
Our faculty members come from esteemed doctoral programs and bring a wealth of real-world business and scholarly experience. Their expertise ranges from launching start-ups to managing marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 companies. They routinely bring this field experience in their class room teaching. The marketing classes make students’ creative juices flowing as well as challenge them to be thoughtful and analytical in their learnings. The faculty routinely uses tools like simulations, escape rooms (yes, if you know your assigned readings you will be able to escape to ‘A’ grades), case studies, real world projects etc. Our professors are invested in their students’ academic success, which in turn leads to a successful career for you.
As a marketing student, you will come across other students from various backgrounds in your classes. On one hand, you will find students who are first generation college attendees and on the other hand, you will notice that some are even 2nd or 3rd generation RU alumni. Here, you may also find friends who have been living all their lives in this area while at the same time you will meet some who are from far corners of the world. Your future peers would come from every social and economic stratum. No matter their background one thing binds them all, the Highlander Spirit. Our students are ready to roll their sleeves and get going.
As marketing students, you will be opening the doors to a world full of exciting opportunities to lead a successful career. The jobs in the field need application of, some combination of, creativity, strategic thinking, interpersonal skills, and analysis. The marketing curriculum provides you ample opportunities to hone these skills!
If you have any questions or need further information about our program or want to talk about your path forward, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of my colleagues in the department. We would love to hear from you and will be happy to provide whatever help we can.
Last but not the least, no matter where your future path takes you or which road you choose to embark on your journey, I wish you the very best in life and career.
Thank you for considering us!
