°ÄÃÅÀÏÆæÈËÂÛ̳ is pleased to announce that we are now offering classes needed for the 3- and 4-year-old Add-On Endorsement to an elementary (PreK-3 or Pre-6) or early childhood special education license. It consists of a 3 course (12 credits) sequence, plus a 45 hour practicum, which can be completed in your workplace. The courses are offered during the spring, summer, and fall semesters.

°ÄÃÅÀÏÆæÈËÂÛ̳’s Add-On Endorsement in Gifted Education K-12 prepares educators to appropriately identify, develop, and nurture the strengths and talents of advanced learners. The program consists of 12 semester hours of coursework that can be taken as either a stand-alone course sequence or as part of the M.S. in Education – Curriculum & Instruction degree program. Coursework is offered completely online in the fall, spring, and summer semesters to accommodate working educators.
For individuals who currently hold a teaching license and have at least one year of successful teaching experience in an accredited public or non-public school

The Post-Professional Certificate in Special Education, General Curriculum is designed to provide specific background, education and tools to K-12 teachers to prepare them to address the needs of students with disabilities in the general curriculum classroom. The program will educate students about the learning characteristics and needs of learners with disabilities. Students will develop knowledge and skills in assessment and evaluation. Students will learn to implement evidence-based instructional strategies in reading, writing, and mathematics. Graduates will be prepared to teach and support K-12 learners with disabilities who are in general curriculum classrooms.
The Post-Professional Certificate in Special Education, General Curriculum provides a route to the Special Education, General Curriculum Add-On Endorsement for practicing licensed K-12 teachers. It will provide graduates with the necessary coursework and credential to obtain an endorsement in Special Education, General Curriculum at either the elementary, middle, or high school level. Licensed K-12 teachers who successfully complete the requirements of this certificate will be eligible to apply to the Virginia Department of Education for the Add-On Endorsement in Special Education, General Curriculum (elementary, middle, or secondary).
