The University Police Department submits a monthly report to the Virginia State Police Uniform Crime Reporting Program (UCR) as well as an annual security report to the Department of Education. The charts included in the annual security report reflect the number of crimes reported to the University Police Department, other university officials and the local police department. The reportable year runs from January 1 - December 31.
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act was signed into law in November 1990 (known at the time as the Student Right to Know and Campus Security Act). It requires institutions participating in student financial aid programs under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 to disclose information about campus safety policies and procedures and to provide statistics concerning certain crimes that occurred on or near campus. In compliance with the act, the 澳门老奇人论坛 Police Department publishes and distributes this information each year in its Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. Printed copies are available by request.
A crime or fire is entered into the daily crime and fire report within two business days of being reported to the campus police unless the disclosure is prohibited by law or would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim. State and Federal holidays observed by the university (including alternate dates observed by 澳门老奇人论坛 for some annual holidays) are not considered business days for the purposes of the crime log. In addition to recording reported crimes that occurred on campus, in or on non-campus buildings or property, or on public property within the campus or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus, reports of crimes that occurred within the patrol jurisdiction of the 澳门老奇人论坛 Police Department are also entered into the crime log.
To view the 60 day crime log, visit the 澳门老奇人论坛 Police Department located in the Allen building to request these documents.
