°ÄÃÅÀÏÆæÈËÂÛ̳ reviews a student’s completed and accepted FAFSA to determine eligibility for federal and state financial aid. °ÄÃÅÀÏÆæÈËÂÛ̳’s priority FAFSA deadline is March 1st.

Students who are transferring to °ÄÃÅÀÏÆæÈËÂÛ̳ with their Associate's degree from a Virginia Community College may be eligible to receive the Virginia Transfer Grant.  In order to be considered for this award, students must complete the Virginia Transfer Grant Application and submit a copy of their final transcripts showing they have received their Associate's degree from a Virginia Community College.  Students must meet all criteria listed on the application in order to be considered.  The application for transfer grant will not be reviewed until after the school's semester census date. 

Educator's Degree/Employment Verification Request (Non-Degree Enrollment) [PDF]

This form may be submitted in lieu of an official transcript for an educator in the United States who is seeking approval for graduate non-degree enrollment. This form will also serve as an initial Request for Reduced Tuition Rate for Virginia Educators. Following your initial approval for enrollment, you will be required to submit the Request for Reduced Tuition Rate for Virginia Educators each academic year to maintain eligibility for this reduced rate.

Request for Reduced Tuition Rate for Virginia Educators  (Degree-Seeking)

Full-time Virginia educators (K-12) can qualify to pay a reduced rate for Radford courses offered on and off campus. °ÄÃÅÀÏÆæÈËÂÛ̳ has implemented this policy as recognition of the importance for Virginia educators to enhance their professional knowledge and skills. The federal government requires some students to verify the information reported on their FAFSA. Colleges are responsible for performing this verification and must do so before federal funds can be disbursed. Verification requirements apply to the following federal programs: Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Work Study (FWS) and Federal Direct Loans. Verification is also required for state and other need based aid programs.

Understanding Proof of Parent Marital Status

Often many dependent students that need to submit proof of their parent’s marital status for Verification of their FAFSA have questions as to what documentation is needed. Below we have listed the documentation needed to prove marital status for all official statuses listed on the FAFSA:

If your parents are married, or have been remarried please submit:

• A copy of their marriage certificate OR a direct email or letter from a parent to our office stating their status and the date they were married

If your parents are divorced or separated, then please submit:

• A copy of your parents divorce decree with all signatures including the judges OR a letter from a lawyer confirming their status OR two signed and dated letters from friends of the family confirming their status, the date of separation, and no intent of reconciliation.
• A signed letter from an authority figure (EX: a religious official, work supervisor, family therapist, counselor, ETC.) confirming their status, date of separation, and that there is no intent of reconciliation.
• Proof of separate addresses for both parents. (EX: utility bills, lease agreement showing the new address and which parent is living there, ETC.)

If your parent is single or never married:

• No documentation is required to prove their status unless conflicting information is discovered. In which case our office will be in contact with you directly.

Proof of Citizenship

Documents are requested to verify the citizenship or non-citizenship eligibility for financial aid.

• Acceptable documentation must be presented in original form at the financial aid office. 
• If you cannot present the documentation in person, send an original copy of acceptable documentation to our office along with the signed certification form confirming that the document has not been altered in anyway.

• If you or your parents are unable to retrieve your tax transcript then we can accept a signed copy of your 1040 tax returns. We request you send the 1st and 2nd page of the 1040 form, along with all schedules, with your hand written signature or the financial preparer's information.
• You DO NOT need to send all 100+ pages of the entire tax return
