°ÄÃÅÀÏÆæÈËÂÛ̳ Students are eligible for a variety of employment opportunities. Student employees should work a limited number of hours per week while taking classes but may have a greater work allowance during breaks. Students are also eligible for payments outside of employment. For more information on payments outside of payroll, refer to the Payments to Students Guidelines.
Student Hourly Wage: Payment for work or services performed by students on an ongoing basis. Paid biweekly at an hourly rate for actual hours worked and processed through payroll. Student hourly wage employees complete a web time entry timesheet each pay period for their hours worked in order to be paid. Also includes paper timesheets submitted manually when web time entry deadlines are missed. These employees are eligible for overtime. Please view the for instructions on time entry.
Federal Work Study: Payment for work or services performed by students and awarded as part of the Federal Work Study (FWS), which is administered by the Financial Aid Office and funded 75 percent by federal funds. Paid biweekly on an hourly basis through the payroll system. Work study employees complete a web time entry timesheet each pay period for hours worked in order to be paid. Paper timesheets are submitted manually when web time entry deadlines are missed. Not eligible for overtime pay. Work study positions are awarded through the Financial Aid Office.
Work study employees are paid at the federal minimum wage rate per hour and have their hours limited based on their Federal Work-Study award. The program encourages community service work and work related to a field of study. The pay earned is not applied towards tuition.
Work Scholarship: Payment for work or services performed by students and awarded as part of the Work Scholarship program, which is administered by the Financial Aid Office. Paid biweekly on an hourly basis through the payroll system. Work scholarship employees complete a web time entry timesheet each pay period for hours worked in order to be paid. Paper timesheets are submitted manually when web time entry deadlines are missed.
Work study/scholarship student employees are not allowed to work when the University is closed and classes are not in session.
Academic Graduate Assistantship – Stipend: An academic job held by a graduate student that involves payment for work or services performed. Graduate assistantships can be classified as Graduate Assistants (GA's), Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA's), Graduate Teaching Fellows (GTF's), or Graduate Research Fellows. The program is administered through the College of Graduate Studies and Research. Graduate Assistants are paid biweekly in equal installments through the payroll system. These employees do not submit timesheets.
Non-Academic Graduate Assistantship: A graduate assistantship held by a graduate student that involves payment for work or services awarded outside of the Graduate College. Paid biweekly through the payroll system. These employees submit timesheets.
